The Yards I Know Best
Chester Springs properties tend to be generous and wooded, which is lovely to look at and a lot to keep on top of. Beds run long, the canopy drops a serious amount of leaf every fall, and the ground underneath is shallow silt loam with schist not far down — so weeds root in the top few inches and pull cleanly if you get to them before they seed. Most of what I am asked for here is the same handful of jobs: beds cleared and re-mulched in spring, shrubs cut back off the windows and walks, and leaves dealt with in November.

Silt loam over schist, with rock close to the surface. Good news for hand weeding, harder on anything that wants deep digging — which is a fair reason to hire someone with a machine instead of me.
Stiltgrass and Garlic Mustard
Both are well established in the wooded parts of the township. Pulling before they set seed genuinely reduces next year, which is the whole argument for hand weeding over spraying.
Spotted Lanternfly Egg Masses
Grey putty-looking patches on trunks, fence posts and stone. Scraping them off over the winter takes minutes and removes several dozen insects apiece.

Do you actually live in Chester Springs?
Yes. This is home, and it is where I have done most of my work so far — the past year has been mulching, weeding and watering for neighbors around here. It is the area I can get to fastest and answer quickest.
We have two acres. Can you handle it?
Probably not all of it, and I would rather say so. I work by hand, on my own, with no mower and no truck. Where I am useful on a big Chester Springs property is the beds — clearing them, mulching them, keeping the shrubs cut back. Lawn and field work needs equipment I do not have.
Our beds are completely overgrown. Is that too far gone?
No, that is most of what I get called for. An overgrown bed is a bigger first visit than a maintained one, so I will walk it with you, tell you what it will take, and if it is a lot we can split it across two visits rather than one expensive day.
What happens to the leaves? There are a lot of them.
I rake and bag them and stack the bags wherever you want them for pickup. I do not have a truck, so I cannot haul them off your property — worth knowing before you book, because on a heavily wooded lot that is a lot of bags.
